This is a 4-week series conducted on Sundays, 1 to 2 p.m., from March 6 through 27.

Learn how to decrease stress, anxiety and reactivity while building a realistic meditation practice and incorporating mindfulness into daily life. Whether you've never meditated before or are looking for a refresher, this 4-week intro is for you! Easy to follow, this introductory course will provide you with: • guided meditations and reflections • short exercises that actually fit into your life • tips for finding time to practice in your busy day • audio recordings of guided meditations to do on your own • resources if you want to go further.

  • Week 1: What is mindfulness? Working with the breath and getting started.
  • Week 2: Working with sensations in the body. Building a practice.
  • Week 3: Working with emotions. Weaving mindfulness into daily life.
  • Week 4: Working with thoughts. Further resources.

Cost: $75 for full four-week series. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Shoshanna Kirk is a graduate of the Sounds True Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program through with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. She has also studied meditation through the Stanford Compassion Cultivation Training, MBSR for Childbirth and Parenting, Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach's Power of Awareness program, James Baraz's Awakening Joy program, Rick Hanson's Foundations of Well Being program, as well as at Cloud Mountain, Spirit Rock, Esalen, San Francisco Zen Center and Green Gulch Zen Center.

**Vaccination Required: In addition to masking which is currently required for all students, this in-person series requires that students are fully vaccinated to attend. In addition to these precautions, windows will be kept open to increase ventilation in the studio space. Please bring sufficient warm layers to be comfortable.
