Washington State Parks has announced the free days listed below when the Discover Pass will not be required to visit a state park. While our map on the right shows the location of the Manchester State Park, you can go here for a listing of all state parks! Here are the free park days for 2022:

  • January 1 — First Day Hikes! Visit the First Day Hikes page on the WA State Parks site for a list of all events!
  • January 17 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Learn more!
  • March 9 — Billy Frank, Jr.'s birthday! Nisqually tribal member - learn more!
  • March 19 — State Parks’ Birthday.
  • June 11 — National Get Outdoors Day.
  • June 12 — Free Fishing Day.
  • September 25 — National Public Lands Day.
  • November 11 — Veterans Day. Learn more at VA.gov!

    Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities). A Discover Pass will still be required on these days to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (unless noted). Sno-Park permits are still required on free days at designated Sno-Parks during the winter season.
