This fun, whirlwind introduction to all things wine, includes the basics of growing grapes, turning grapes into wine, wine types and styles, and understanding wine labels. Then there's storing and pouring wines, the basics of tasting and sensory evaluation, wine faults to look out for, and busting the top wine myths. Taste a selection of eight wines from around the world to better understand key principles. Ages 21+

Instructor
Christopher Gronbeck is founder and former owner of The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar in Seattle. He has more than 30 years of teaching experience in the renewable energy and environmental science fields, and has been teaching wine classes for 15 years through The Barrel Thief, North Seattle Community College's Wine & Spirits Continuing Education Program, and other venues. He serves as a judge at The Wine Panel, the Washington Wine Awards, SIP Northwest's Best of the NW, and other regional competitions.
