Her latest book, Intention Tremor: A Hybrid Collection, asks the question, what would you do if you woke up unable to read? Tamara is a thoughtful, candid speaker about life with multiple sclerosis. She’ll be joined by Martha Salinas of the Writers’ Studio Steering Committee.

Haiku can teach you how to control the sharp image, an emphasis on now, implication vs. explanation, seasonal awareness, objectivity vs. subjectivity, and more. With Michael Dylan Welch, president of the Redmond Association of Spokenword, who has served two years as Redmond poet laureate, this interactive class will dig into haiku to generate common "targets" (not rules) for haiku in English.

In this four-session workshop, Warren Read will guide you through the creative development of the short story. The class will cover the elements of a fully realized short story and each session will include writing advice, fluency prompts, sharing your work, and writing groups/workshopping. All levels welcome. Come to class with a draft or at least the beginning of an idea. The class will take place, with social distancing measures, in the Great Room at BARN.
