Bainbridge Performing Arts and Far Away Entertainment, known around the Island as Bainbridge Cinemas, are proud to announce an exciting new partnership to bring live theatre to the Pavillion. BPA will move production of live performances to Theater 3 of Bainbridge Cinemas at the Pavilion during the renovation of what will soon be re-named “The Buxton Center for Bainbridge Performing Arts.

When Bainbridge is ready to return to live theater, we'll be ready for you.

"As our community continues to find ways to work together through the pandemic, this really feels like the most natural of partnerships. We need the stories, connection, and inspiration of our neighbors more than ever right now. We teased early on about a season of ‘hope and change,’ but we couldn’t have known how much that would actually sustain us. We continue to HOPE we’ll get to welcome audiences back this fall, especially in this exciting temporary change of venue!" ~ Dominique Cantwell, BPA Executive Director

Theatergoers of both stage and screen will be pleased to return to the Pavilion after a long intermission due to COVID-19 to catch the latest blockbuster one night and return for The EDGE Improv or a concert from Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra the next. Thanks to Far Away Entertainment’s existing infrastructure, concessions such as popcorn and soft drinks will be available before the show. After the performance, the Pavilion’s many dining options will make for an exciting night out.

"The past 18 months have been especially challenging for all of us in the arts community, and a working partnership with BPA will reinforce the commitment we all share to protect and preserve live performances, film, and other forms of cultural and entertainment offerings on Bainbridge Island. Our multiple auditoriums will allow us to continue featuring new top-rated films each week along with live Operas, community events, and special programs. The live performance offerings BPA brings is a natural fit.” ~ Jeff Brein, Managing Partner of Far Away Entertainment

BPA plans to produce a variety of concerts, small plays, improv shows, and more through 2023, when the new Buxton Center is tentatively scheduled for its grand opening. However, we will always put the health and safety of our patrons, performers, and staff above all else, and will only produce events in a manner that follows the latest health guidelines.
