Photo of Public invited to Suquamish community discussion on housing challenges and opportunities March 3rd

With housing a priority issue across Kitsap County, the Suquamish Community Advisory Council will have a deeper discussion on the complexities, impacts and local efforts addressing this topic during its monthly meeting that takes place virtually from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3. The community is welcome and encouraged to join in on this important conversation. Find the meeting agenda and Zoom link here.

Joining the council will be Scott Crowell, director of Community Development with the Suquamish Tribe, to share details on tribal housing and challenges tribal members encounter. Doug Washburn, director of the Kitsap County Department of Human Services, will provide information on homelessness and housing availability countywide and how the new 1/10th of 1 percent sales tax may be used to create more affordable housing.
