Photo of Ranger and the "Re-Arrangers" in May!

Hello, friends of Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers”

We've got a busy month, with shows in Wenatchee, Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Lake Forest Park, Port Townsend, Chimacum and Sequim, plus a couple favorite Seattle-area venues, including The Royal Room in Columbia City, and North City Bistro up in Shoreline!

Here are a few highlights:
On Thursday, May 4th at the Royal Room, we'll be joined by Jackie Schafer and Tovi Newman who arrived in 2015 from Alaska. Jackie’s soulful and improvisational singing charmed even the most gruff Alaskan fishermen--and the judges at the 2017 Seattle Jazz Vocalist Competition, where she was a finalist! Tovi studied classical and jazz guitar at the University of Alaska--he plays hard-swinging rhythm and playful solos. Our groove is never better than when Tovi is with us! See Ticket details below.

On Sunday, May 7th, we're playing a special concert in Poulsbo--our first time at the Jewel Box Theatre in Poulsbo. The Jewel Box is a small black box theatre with a 95-seat capacity. Every seat is a great one in this intimate space! We'll feature tremendous saxophone player Stephen Vail, from Port Orchard. See Ticket details below.

Friday, May 26th we'll be at the North City Bistro in Shoreline--another intimate venue, with good food and drink. We'll have a great soloist (TBA), guest Sarah Yates on bass, and probably some guest vocals from Shoreline native Monica Finney. See Ticket details below.

Finally, on Saturday, May 27th, we'll host the first of many outdoor concerts that we have planned on Bainbridge Island this summer. This one will feature Stephen Vail on saxophone--he grew up in Port Orchard, traveled the world learning and playing music, and has finally returned home! He earned a Masters degree in Jazz Performance, and in five years with Holland America, he performed 5 hours every day and visited 150 cities in 60 countries. He has a polished sound and is equally adept playing smooth and sweet or wailing away and swinging hard. Admission is free and we'll collect donations.

More shows and all the details are below--hope to see you at a show!
