The call for poetry submissions to our fifth annual Ars Poetica at BARN is officially open. You are invited to submit one of your poems long, short, descriptive, abstract, simple, complex — to this collaborative yearly event.

The poems will be compiled and distributed to all 10 BARN studios. Studio artists may choose one or more poems and create a visual art piece in response. The poems and artwork will be displayed during a reception next April in celebration of National Poetry Month.

"Ars Poetica," Latin for "The Art of Poetry," has inspired poets and authors since it was written by Horace c. 19 BC. It is Horace's advice to poets on the art of writing poetry and drama.

There’s no jury and poets of all experience levels are welcome.

Please send your poem in both .doc and .pdf formats by December 31st to arspoetica@bainbridgebarn.org. Include your name as you’d like it to appear with your poem.

We will notify you in March whether or not your poem has been selected by one of the artists. You retain ownership and all rights to your poem. The Ars Poetica at BARN exhibit will open Friday, April 5th. For more information, visit Ars Poetica at BARN.
