Photo of Suquamish Community Advisory Council hears about county's sewer rate increases and discusses community events at meeting Sept. 7th

Join the Suquamish Community Advisory Council from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 7 at the Suquamish Police Department. Stella Vakarcs, Sewer Utility Manager of Kitsap County Public Works, will give a presentation on proposed sewer rate increases for 2024 and 2025. Washington state law require sewer rates to be set to produce revenue sufficient to cover the costs of maintenance and operations, bond obligations, loan repayment, and other expenses necessary to properly run all five of the county’s sewer systems. County Commissioners plan a public hearing Oct. 23 on the proposed sewer rate schedule.

The council will also review a community map it produced years ago that may be updated and reprinted and discuss planning for Suquamish Day. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend to learn about activities in the community and share information.

The meeting takes place in the Suquamish Police Training Room, 18490 Suquamish Way, Room 1188, on the lower, west side of the building. Parking is available off the driveway on the lower level.

Applications are being accepted for new members to join the Suquamish Community Advisory Council. Visit kcowa.us/SuquamishCAC to find the online application and position description or contact Kitsap County Volunteer Services at rpirtle@kitsap.gov.
