Tuesday, January 11, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Intermediate Casting in the Foundry
In this class you’ll build on your previous casting and pattern-making experience to make a basic mold using your pattern, assist in pouring the bronze into the mold, and then cleaning and finishing your bronze piece.

Thursday, December 2, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Cutting Designs with BARN's CNC Plasma Cutter and Fusion 360
In this class, you’ll learn how to cut useful and interesting shapes out of sheet metal using BARN’s Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Plasma Cutter. You’ll learn how to process image files that can be imported into Fusion 360, or use designs created in Fusion 360, then post-process your work in Fusion 360 to produce G-code that will be used to command the CNC Plasma Cutter where to cut. Click on a date below to read more & register. This class has prerequisites.

Friday, December 3, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Friday, January 7, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Make a Cube
By machining a cube from rough aluminum stock, you will learn key elements of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) machining principles: flatness, parallelism, and angularity. Click on a date below to read more & register.

Sunday, December 5, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Tuesday, February 22, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Make a Metal Evergreen Tree
Try plasma cutting and welding while making a metal 16-18" evergreen tree. Cut the shapes out of flat sheet steel and weld them together. Participants will use a hand held plasma cutter to create parts of a tree in 16 gauge steel (roughly 3/32nds) and then weld the pieces together with MIG tack welds. No experience necessary! Click on a date below to read more & register.

Tuesday, December 7, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Saturday, December 11, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Introduction to Fusion 360 CAD
Learn the basic features of Fusion 360, a 3-D design program that will allow you to design objects on a computer screen and turn into items made of metal, wood, plastic or even molds for casting.

Tuesday & Wednesday, December 7 & 8, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Pattern-Making for Casting in the Foundry
Learn how to make a pattern for casting metal in the Foundry. Once completed, you'll be able to use the resulting pattern to create a mold that molten bronze or aluminum can be poured to produce the desired casting.

Wednesdays, December 8 & 15, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Beginning Casting in the Foundry (Off-site)
In this class you’ll get an introduction into basic foundry work. You’ll learn how to make a basic mold using a provided pattern with Petrobond sand, watch the bronze being poured into the mold, and then clean up the bronze piece that you’ll then be able to take home. Click on a date below to read more & register.

Thursday, December 9, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Thursday, January 13, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Machine Shop Orientation
In this class you will learn about basic metal cutting, and the tools in the BARN machine shop studio used for drilling, turning, milling, sawing and grinding. There will be a basic demonstration of what the drill press, lathe, milling machine, cut off saw, band saw and surface grinder do.
