Photo of Want to see BARN in action? Save a spot at the Spring Sampler!

BARN will open its doors for public tours for the first time in two years on Sunday afternoon, May 1. The Spring Sampler event will give you a chance to visit all 10 BARN studios, see demonstrations, and participate in hands-on activities. It's all free -- just choose your time slot and register here!

Here's a preview of what you'll see and do:

  • Electronic & Technical Arts: Watch 3D printers in action and learn about the laser cutters and other tools

  • Fiber Arts: Try your hand at weaving on a loom

  • Glass Arts: See a display of different types of glass art created in the studio

  • Kitchen Arts: Help make (and eat) hand pies!

  • Media Arts: Make a short video and audio recording about what you've seen at BARN

  • Print & Book Arts: See linocut printmaking, letterpress and book making demonstrations

  • Woodworking: Volunteers will be demonstrating the use of the many tools in the woodshop

  • Writers: Interactive magnetic poetry
